About the President
Inspired by years of working with the federal government, public universities, and volunteering abroad, Dr. Kirk wanted to focus her expertise on local NRV organizations. Originally hailing from Wisconsin, she spent years in the Middle East and Europe, before moving to Washington D.C., and eventually finding a home in the Roanoke. With a Ph.D. from Virginia Tech, she is passionate about nonprofits and their role in society.
Dr. Kirk has extensive expertise in strategic planning, research, and nonprofit management. She is a Balanced Scorecard Certified Professional and holds a nonprofit technology professional certification. She particularly enjoys helping organizations understand data, planning, and aiding nonprofits in information technology planning, including website development and online engagement. She is a planner and aims to ensure organizations are set up to succeed.
